BDO is the world's fifth-largest network of tax consulting and charted accounting companies. In more than 115 countries around the globe, more than 46,000 employees in more than 1,000 offices advise national and international companies from all sectors, regardless of size and industry. These services are always founded on a combination of local expertise and a network of globally operating experts. The international BDO network was founded in 1963, when the three tax consulting and chartered accounting companies Binder (Great Britain), Dijker (the Netherlands) and Otte (Germany) joined forces. The individual national companies, the "BDO Member Firms", are independent, legally autonomous entities in their respective country. The network is coordinated by a Brussels-based "Global Coordination Office" of BDO Global Coordination B.V, a company registered in the Netherlands. Internal agreements and specifications, publications and other announcements made by BDO do not have the purpose of founding a supranational legal entity, nor are they suitable for creating liability of "BDO Member Firms" for the action or omission of other "BDO Member Firms".
